The main thing is to make sure that the crate won't a) fall apart in transport and b) won't get crushed. Take a sample of the OSB material and get it wet. Does it maintain its properties of shape and strength? If not, don't use it. If yes, use caution.
Metal is allowed for crate construction, so there is a little wiggle room. However, even aluminum has been punctured by forklifts before. I could tell horror stories of teams whose crates fell apart/were damaged in the shipping process. Bottom line is, you gotta make it solid as a rock. If you still aren't sure, ask Q&A to verify.
