What Is Going On Here??

Okay we have had problems with this new control system for a very long long time, and we have restarted twice, and followed directions EXTREMELY closely, making sure of EVERY little detail, and yet we still have problems. Right now we can't figure out this wireless thing, and we are totally lost on what the problem is, and we have started from the begging of the instructions twice, after resetting everything.

We've set up our robot wireless router and bridge, but the bridge is communicating only intermittently. We're able to get a good solid wireless connection to the bridge through the router from some computers, but not others. For example my mac laptop can connect to the bridge when contacting the router through the wireless network, but when the router is connected through an ethernet cable, the wireless connection to the bridge becomes intermittent. Our team laptop, running windows XP, doesn't see the team wireless network. It connects to the bridge reliably through an ethernet cable, but the connection to the bridge through the router is intermittent. Here's a list of the things we've tried.

1. Reset both bridge and router and re-setup both
2. Mac laptop (DHCP address) wireless to router, wireless to bridge - works great
3. Mac laptop (Static address) wireless to router, wireless to bridge - works great
4. Mac laptop (Static address) wired to router, wireless to bridge - works sometimes - sometimes the bridge response is intermittent
5. Team Windows XP laptop (DHCP address) wired to router, wireless to bridge - bridge is intermittent
6. Team Windows XP laptop (Static address) wired to router, wireless to bridge - bridge very intermittent, sometimes completely unresponsive.

We're stymied. Any suggestions?

Re: What Is Going On Here??

Just to be completely certain we're on the same page with your terminology... When you say, for example, "5. Team Windows XP laptop (DHCP address) wired to router, wireless to bridge" you mean all of the following:

1. Laptop is connected wired to the router, sitting on a table somewhere.
2. Router is connecting wireless to the bridge, sitting on the robot.
3. Bridge is connected wired to Ethernet port 1 of the cRIO.

Also, by "connection to the bridge" you're referring to your laptop's connection to the cRIO, correct? Or are you actually trying to connect directly to the bridge from the laptop?
