Go to Post I guess what I am trying to say is that GP is inside all of us just waiting for a chance to escape. I am sure how the virus spread. I put the blame solely on the shoulders of Chief Delphi. - Ken Loyd [more]

Lab View Update 3.0 encoder trouble

The encoders we have on the digital i/o have stopped working since the labview 3.0 update? Is this a firmware issue?

Re: Lab View Update 3.0 encoder trouble

I don't know if this is new in 3.0, but I didn't notice it before.
There's an Encoder Start, Encoder Reset, and Encoder Stop vi. If your incoders are doing nothing (like ours had been for the past two hours), you may need to run the Encoder Start vi.

Re: Lab View Update 3.0 encoder trouble

We've discovered one issue with the encoders in 3.0. It has an easy workaround, so we haven't decided yet whether there will be another patch.

The bug we saw was only with 4x and only when averaging was set to 1. The workarounds are to change averaging to 2 or more, or don't use 4x.

Does this describe yours? If not, please give details so that we can try to reproduce it.
