Question about the signal light
We searchd on the rules list and the only rule we found about the signal light was that:
"<R58> ROBOTS shall use the diagnostic Robot Signal Light provided in the Kit Of Parts. It must be mounted on the ROBOT such that it is easily visible while standing three feet in front of the ROBOT in the STARTING CONFIGURATION. The Robot Signal Light must be connected to the “RSL” supply terminals on the Digital Sidecar, which provides power and control for the light. The team has no direct control over the light and no programming is required." So we know you need to see the light for 3' when you stand in front of the robot, but do we have to include the signal light in the 60" height limit of the robot, or we can put it higher and still keep the rules? Thanks you very much Neat-Team #1943 |

Re: Question about the signal light
The only things that are excluded from the robot volume requirements are specified in <R11>-A

Re: Question about the signal light
Keep it in the robot envelope. Put it somewhere where it can be seen from the front. We have had ours damaged in past years even with it within the bumper zone.
It's a good thing actually, if the refs see that your robot isn't ready to compete while on the field, they will help you to get ready. |
