Kristine,

Its very very hard to say because only 2 of the 11 FIRST regionals have been played and less than 1/4 of the teams have played so its a little premature to ask that questions just yet...

Plus, a team can do poorly in the regionals and good in the nationals. We were awful in the regionals in 98, but we finished second in the nats that year.

I don't know who will win the nationals but i expect a winning alliance is one that have a robot that balances the bridge, 2 robot that could put big balls on the goals, and 1 that can balance two goals on the bridge.

I predict that the winning alliance will balance the bridge with out any robots on it, plus get all 4 bots in the endzone.

i agree...i also predict that it will all be done in 30seconds, be one or 2 big balls, and probably only 1 or 2 small balls, which would be thrown into the goal while the bot is pulling it to the bridge...of course, this would call for disgustingly perfect performance by everyone involved, coaches, drivers, and human players and would be almost impossible, which is why it would happen in the finals of the nationals...
disclaimer: i am a rambot, i am a ninny, any harmful side effects induced my reading any of my posts are intirely youre fault...i rid myself of the blame...youve been warned
ninny mike...and no the dont let me play with matches/lighters...or tennis balls...or both at the same time

dude jeff you forgot to mention a robot that can avoid the bridge...ie go under/over the rail...or a robot that can help the goals get balanced by being a wedge bot

I think a well balanced alliance that can do all the basic functions well will win. Not a big surprise but no one can really tell at this time.

As far as where Team #191 X-CATS is staying it's at the All-Star Music resort. It'll be fun. Last year we stayed at the Port Orleans which was pretty sweet.

Where are you guys staying?

I think the winning alliance will have one balance bot, one big ball bot, two bots which can go under the railing and balance both goals on the bridge within 1 min. My team is staying off Disney at the Holiday Inn Family Suites, anyone else staying there?
