Re: Gearbox selection
Well we ended up designing our own gearboxes for the front wheels, with gears from the toughboxes to get the same ratio. So standard toughboxes for the rears, and the re-engineered gearboxes for the front.
The intent was to keep the width of the whole mechanism very small, and with the re-engineered version, I put the motor and output shaft on the same side. I also used Lexan for the backing plate, and it machines very nicely, though I think it consumes endmills faster. See attached... Cheers, -Neil. |
