Re: PRO-E TUTORIALS
Hi Murthy,
There are two ways to do this. While in Assembly, you can select the component in the model tree and click the Right Mouse Button and choose activate. This will activate the part as if you where working on it by itself. You can add new features and edit existing features as you do in part mode. Give that a try. The nice thing about doing this in the assembly level is you can see how things interact with one another when making a change. When you are finished, click the assembly from the model tree and activate it via the right mouse button option. Otherwise, select the component form the model tree and click the right mouse button and select Open. This will open the part in a new window. Hope that helps. Mark |

Re: PRO-E TUTORIALS
Hi Mark,
I would like to change the length dimensions of the c-channel imported from the CAD FRC library of parts. But when I try to right click the c-channel, no sketch feature or extrusion feature of c-channel appears in the model tree. So i couldn't edit the sketch or extrusion length to change the length of the channel.Kindly let me know how to modify it. thanks and regards, Murthy |

Re: PRO-E TUTORIALS
Hi Murthy,
Did you download the parts from www.ptc.com/go/firstkop? Or did you download it form the www.firstcadlibrary.com? If you downloaded it from the firstcadlibrary.com, the files are not native Pro/E. You would not be able to modify the dimensions. I suggest you grab the same model from the ptc.com site....as they are native Pro/E models. let me know which ones you grabbed and we can discuss the steps to edit. mark |

Hello Mark,
I think grabbed the parts from firstcadlibrary.com.But I'm almost done with the model now. However I'm terrible need of your help in conducting dynamic analysis which are described as follows: (1) to determine the velocity at which if the robot hits an object it can tip off (2) to check the displacement of the robot when certain amount of force is applied to the robot on its structure I tried several online resources to find this but I could get any lead on this. Can you clearly tell me how to conduct this. Also I think this portion of analysis was not available in the online classes. Waiting for your support, Thanks and regards, Murthy |
