Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
no, i think you misunderstand me, i should be able to have teleop running, and when i hit the switch to auto, the auto program should begin running (correct me if i'm wrong) but instead of this happening i only get either telop mode or auto mode, even when i switch the button on the driver's station only one program works

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
One thing we tried was taking out the "start com" that we copied into our autonomous code. That allowed both the autonomous and the teleoperated to work independently, but then we had issues with the motors not working in autonomous but (yes) working in teleoperated. We can't seem to get both pieces working. We should probably continue communicating and perhaps we can come to a conclusion that works for both of us.

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
The initial project code is all in one project and has one build spec for deploying to the robot. You don't want to create a new project for your autonomous. You want to edit the one in your project. And you do not want to drop any more of the start communications anywhere else in your program. One of those is the right number, and the template had it in the right location.
So that we can help better, which template are you using Basic or Advanced? Do you really have two projects, or did I misunderstand? Greg McKaskle |

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
Are you clicking the run button on your autonomous? To start it up, you should set the DS to disable, run the robot main, then you can enable either the tele or the auto. You should be able to switch back and forth as many times as you like.
Do the procedure above with auto first, then tele and report the results. Greg McKaskle |

We were having problems until we realized that you must deploy from the Main project. There is a deploy button on the autonomous but if you load from here apparently only that vi gets loaded and Globals or something gets broken.

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
(Put robot in teleop)Try running your main robot code vi, and then, while that is still running, open up your autonomous independent vi, and it should not be running. Keep your main code still running, and switch to autonomous on your DS. You should see the autonomous program run.

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
we finally got our code to work thanks to a little luck
the problem we had was that our varibles were not inside of the while loop (or for loop if that is what you used) After we did that, though the code ran perfectly |

We are having a similar problem but I don't understand how you fixed this. Are you using Labview or WindRiver?

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
In labview, you want to run your Robot Main.vi as startup, not teleop or auto. If you just modified the default code, it should switch between the modes correctly.

Re: Auto and Teleop Modes Hate Eachother!!! HELP!!!
I have a question that slightly goes along with this...
We are using the provided FMS to run some 120 second matches but the problem is the FMS will NEVER put the robot into auto mode?? the auto-mode is set to 15 sec the teleop mode is 120 sec we have tried both start buttons and nothing will work... anyone else having similar issues with the FMS software? |
