Your team does get to keep this year's control system, you know. I can't really think of a really good reason that a team would need two controllers after the competition. :^) Unless you're planning on making a Battlebot. In which case, i can only tell you that the FIRST controller is probably too fancy and fragile for battlebot competition.
But seriously, why would you need an extra controller, and be willing to pay that kinda cash for it?

It's been used before...many teams use them because they're reliable (I think...while the controller may be reliable, I, on this subject, am not )

Before you could keep the control systems, one of our engineers came up with something called "Abby Normal" that would let you drive the robot in the post season if you wanted too. I'm not 100% sure of the details.

We made some money off of it though.
