Question Problem Configuring cRIO

We have problems:
  • Problem configuring the cRIO
  • Reformatting the cRio via safe mode takes at least an hour and never completes!
  • We can't set the IP of the cRio, it stays set at 0.
  • What exactly is the "on" and "off" position of the DIP switch? Can someone give us a diagram?
  • What should the default subnet and gateway Max tools configs should be?
  • The status LED blinks every 2 seconds.

Re: Problem Configuring cRIO

Have you read through and followed the control system manual?

Re: Problem Configuring cRIO

It's the day before ship and we're also having these issues. When we tried to re-image a brand-new, backup cRIO, we also reached the same error.

The cRIO is attached to Driver Station 2, the Computer is on Driver Station 1, and the computer was recently (today) updated to the most recent LabView update (also updated today).

The Driver station is updated to 2009-01-22c1.

The old cRio also had the same issues.

We're in desperate need of assistance, and we've read most of the documentation.

Re: Problem Configuring cRIO

There are apparently deep mysteries in Windows networking that do not easily yield to diagnosis by forum posts. Here's a desperation measure to try: use a different computer.

Re: Problem Configuring cRIO

Without more information, it is very hard to offer advice on how to solve your problems. It could be a firewall issue, you could have a second ethernet card interfering with the process, your network settings could be incorrect, etc.

In general, you should not be in safe mode when running the imaging tool. You should only be manually putting your cRIO into safe mode if you have substantially corrupted the software and need to reformat. (You would then need to take it out of safe mode and run the imaging tool again to put the FRC software on the device).

If you look closely, the word "OFF" is written on the left side of the dip switches. They should be down on that side to be off.

If you continue to have trouble, please post with exactly what error message the imaging tool is giving you.
