BoM Question

I have a question about the bill of materials. Our main sponsor is our school system. The school system also gave our shop teachers the go ahead to provide us with anything we needed that happened to have on hand and didn't need.

They gave us some aluminum diamond plating that we used, as well as a piece of thin stainless steel, a thick steel plate, and a piece of steel bar.

My question is this: since they're considered a formal team sponsor, do I have to list the price for those materials? That would be difficult to ascertain, because they gave us materials that they keep on hand. It's leftover stuff from things they do in class. Do I even need to list things like that on the BoM at all if it comes from a sponsor?

There's no concern at all about going over budget or anything like that. I just want to know if I need to try to figure out a way to put values on this stuff that we got from the school.

Re: BoM Question

You can list the cost for these items as if you had to buy them.
The web site www.mcmaster.com is a good place to look up prices.

Re: BoM Question

Pretty simple, really. You do have to value them (<R20>)...

...but according to 8.3.3.1-C, you have to give the fair market value, which is easy to find.

Come to think of it, read section 8.3.3.1 and you'll know how everything is supposed to be accounted for.
