First of all, my hat goes off to Beatty (71) for their amazing robot, they do it all. They also taught us the importance of balancing 2 goals from off the bridge. I believe at the later regionals & nationals, balancing from on the bridge will work in the seeding rounds, but you'll need to balance from off if you want to win in the elims.
The past few weeks whenever I saw people thanking their elim alliance partners for a job well done, the cynic in me assumed it was people playing politics, which is an aspect of FIRST that I despise. But after going through the whole process I know that people were truly grateful, as am I. Thanks to teams 66 & 74 (esp Geoff & Melissa) for looking beyond our poor ranking & realizing our potential for some big scores (my prediction Friday night was right, that if 74 was a top 8 team, we'd be paired up with them). Thanks to 66 for their goal handling, 74 & 535 for never failing to put the big ball on the goals, and 302 for being ready to take over and for cheering us on. I hope to see all 4 of you again in FL. And thanks to all the teams for making WMR the most exciting regional so far this year.
Hey, it was fun to give the alliance of 71, 33, 85, 301, and 1 a run for their money. Congratulations to the champions.
Mike
