Team 1448 R6
Hey, I'm from Team 1448 (Parsons, Kansas)
Here's some pictures showing off our robot. ![]() ![]() Our robot is a dumper in disguise The entire dump mechanism is in a rotatable turret. It can't be reloaded during the match, but it will dump all 7 balls in about 1.5 seconds. It is very accurate, all the balls land right on top of each other. After we shoot our plan is to play defense, herding balls, and getting Empty Cells. We have a "2009 Promotional Video" on our website's video page that shows off the shooter in action pretty well. We're traveling to the Greater Kansas City Regional tomorrow, I hope to see some of you guys up there. Good luck everybody! |

Re: Team 1448 R6
That is a really sweet and unique idea. The vid seems to be very awesome. Are you guys planning to add a reloading function during competitions? The idea is really interesting to be honest. Any vids on how that dumper works?

Re: Team 1448 R6
We don't really plan on putting in a reloading function, because we feel that we would be spending too much time trying to pick up balls (which happened to us during Aim High). After we fire our shot, we're using our dumper to herd/transport moon rocks and empty cells to our human shooter.
The dumper works by simply raising a pair of pneumatic cylinders and having an agitator underneath shake the blue plastic. This makes the balls come out, even if they are stuck together. |
