I cannot agree much more with this comment. The work that many teams, in particular 234 and 365, with other teams to help them prepare for matches and pass inspection was truly outstanding. Very rarely have I witnessed such cooperation between the teams as I did at this regional.
As for the on-the-field competition, while this regional won't be the most competitive (even this weekend), it is certainly up there. 45 was far from the only team who tore it up. 234 also did a spectacular job, and many considered them much more "explosive" than 45 (although easier to mitigate). The fact that a team the quality of 365 lost in the quarter-finals (yeah, I know it's not 1114 and 71) should be a good indication of how strong this event was.
If you have time at a competition, stop and thank some of the people wearing the crew shirts. They are working very hard to make sure the competition goes as smoothly as possible. - Greg Young [more]
