Can a student Coach press the Stop Button

Can a Student Coach press the stop button to disable the robot and stop the clock? Or does it have to be a driver?

after having this issue on a couple of occasions in long island (coaches hitting buttons), the referees started asking specifically before the match "which two are the coaches? you CAN'T hit the button" and knowing which to people were the mentors (regardless of being students or not) they would watch them and they were not allowed to ever hit the button..

so i'm pretty sure even though the rule says (i think) a 'student member' of the team must hit it, it's referring to the drivers/human players and not the mentors.. because if it was simply a basis of student vs. adult.. teams would be at a possible advantage/disadvantage if there are 5 people or only 3 that can hit the button..

as well.. teams like us who have two college students for coaches (who you can't necessarily tell apart from a high school student) could possibly hit the button without anyone being the wiser..

best plan: don't have the coaches do it.. and have one person who's in charge of doing it for every match..

Our human player (*raises hand*) does it, because he's generally useless once that goal is filled to the desired amount...

At VCU the point was made repeatedly that a student must press the button. If a mentor presses the button it is grounds for DQ of all allience members.
