Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional
There were some great matches today, and I'm sure there will be even better ones tomorrow.
One thing that i've noticed...we need more cheering! The U.S. Cellular Arena isn't as loud as I remember from years passed. Lets get some RED ALLIANCE / BLUE ALLIANCE cheers and things! come on guys! LETS DO IT! Like the gate on our robot says... WOOOOOOOOO! Robots! |

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional
Yes Dean Did make a a showing!!!! It was a great regional, not for our team, but it was a blast, we never got the full robot working, together with the code
We didnt run at all two matches because we had a dead battery, and then to top it off, the next match, we forgot to put the breakers in for the drive motors Thank you to all of the teams that helped us out with our programing and other needs, and all of the NI reps were a huge help when trying to debug!!!! This was my first year involved with FIRST, and I enjoyed every min. of it, there is nothing like it, and I couldn't have had so much fun without all of you!!!!! |

Congratulations to 2039 Rockford Robotics, 1625 Winnovation and 2194 Fondy Fire for winning the Wisconsin Regional. This was one strong alliance and you guys backed up all the hype that was buzzing after MWR. Also, big ups to teams 2970, 2506 and 269 for making it to the finals and putting up a great fight (that first match of the finals had everyone gasping and will probably get the most hits once it gets posted on the blue alliance). Team 2970 was especially impressing - great rookie year achievement. Top notch robot and game play (I knew I would like your robot as soon as I saw in the pits with the two propellers ). Good luck to you at Minnesota - and I am sure other teams will be looking out for you at that regional and in the future. Wave robotics 2826 was another rookie team that definitely deserves a mention. Good robot, great team spirit, great all around show. Congratulations on winning rookie of the year award and good luck in Atlanta. You showed that you have all the ingredients to be a another strong team in years to come. Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional
Fondy Fire sends a big Thank You to 2039 Rockford Robotics and 1625 Winnovation. Your were great alliance partners in the eliminations! Also congratulations to 2826 Wave Robotics on winning the Rookie All Star. We couldn't be prouder.
Also a hugh thank you to Team 93, NEW Apple Corps. Your team is always ready, willing and able to help, and nobody knows how to tailgate better. Also thanks to Team 171 for helping us with our programming. And we wish 2437 Lancer Robotics much more luck at the Hawaii Regional than you had here. Hopefully all of the gremlins are now gone from your robot. It was really great to see Dean Kamen and John Abele at the Wisconsin Regional! Even though Dean was fighting a bad cold, he was very gracious as he visited teams. Finally, thank you to all the volunteers. They are the ones that always make the Wisconsin Regional so much fun. its being difficult to make though I'm glad we got to help 2039, now to just hope we land in the same division also my favorite MC quote for the weekend, "1625 appears to be pinned.....but...they dont seem to care!" as they show the big screen with our drivers standing hands off the controls just chillin, its fun strategizing for a match against 3 D-special bots (semi's) Last edited by Aren_Hill : 15-03-2009 at 12:18. |

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional
Team 167 sends a huge thanks to all the teams for making this such an exciting and fun regional. Also, much congratulations to every team that made it to the elimination rounds, especially winnovation, rockford robotics, and fondy fire for winning in such an intense competition.
We'd especially like to thank 1736 Robot Casserole, and 2062 C.O.R.E. Robotics for joining our alliance and filling in for our weaknesses. We had a great and fun run with you guys. Our quarterfinals were some of the most intense matches of the entire weekend in my opinion. 1736--2 years ago we went with you to the semis; this year, we repeated that. Next year, let's take it all the way! 2062: hope to see more of you guys next year and in years to come! Thanks once again. we couldn't have done it without you! |

Congrats to 2039, 1625, and 2194. You guys were an awesome alliance and it was great fun to play against you guys in the semis. If only our robot hadn't decided for itself that it was only going to play defense (our compressor sheared its mounts and unplugged itself in the match prior and we didn't find it until we went back to the pits), that second match may have ended a little bit differently
Thanks to 2022 and 2481 for being outstanding alliance partners and giving it a good run. We wish you the best in the future and expect great things. 2022, we hope the brown modifications do for you what brown does for us! Congrats to Chris Paulik! You have been an excellent inspection mentor for me the last few years and I appreciate all the work you do for the regional as well as the local teams. Thank you Team 93 for the outstanding play in our qualifying match together and the resulting team award. That was one of the funnest matches I've ever been a part of. Finally, thank you to all of the teams that attended the team social on Friday night. The food situation was unfortunate and out of our control, despite our planning efforts, but you all handled it with the gracious professionalism that one would expect from FIRST teams. I would love to hear some feedback about the FIRST Olympics Relay Races, but it certainly looked like the participants had fun (at least until the Triple Replay event!). Can't wait for next year! |

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional
Congrats to 2039, 1625, and 2194. You guys were very impressive and the victory was well deserved.
Thank You Team 167 for selecting us to your alliance. We gave it a run and the alliance worked extremely well together. Friendships were made and none of us will forget the energy and excitement. The Franklin Team 2506 really showed the rest of us that they are a team to be reckoned with. I see them being a threat for years to come. WOW, Moore Robotics is truly unbelievable and is an inspiration to all of us. They deserve the Chairman's award without question. Getting it for two years in a row only shows how deserving they really are. Their list of accomplishments is mind blowing. No wonder Mike Whittman received the Outstanding Volunteer Award. I true inspiration. Once again, The Wisconsin Regional showed that it is one of the best in the world. Thanks to the organizers and all the volunteers. You all Rock!
