This brings up an interesting issue. I hesitate to even bring it up...but here goes. After nearly EVERY match...there are bits and pieces of robots that are left on the field.
If a referee sees something come off a robot (unintentionally) during the course of play...wouldn't it be incumbent on him/her to give a penalty for the robot being outside of its orthogonal dimensions? I won't be asking Q and A about this... it just occurred to me that ... if referees are giving penalties when a battery shifts and the cable sticks out... then why not when a part comes off? just asking .... I guess if you lost a screw you could just have the robot squat over it like an egg until the end of the match to avoid a penalty....  |
