Global news tonight?

Waterloo regionals starts today and Global news will be there, now I cannot guarantee it will make the 6pm or 11pm news on Global tonight, we shoot many things and at the end of the day half of it does not make air but we will be there, at least I will be there (camera), I am not sure at this hour of the morning if they are sending me a reporter or EA.

You might want to watch at 6pm on Global though just in case, things get dropped from the line up while the show is on air so I can never say for sure on anything in news.

quick update here: As of 4:42pm, 30 second/VO is in our line up in 6:40-6:50 block, that can change at any time. (Global news ontario)

I saw Rogers cable 10/waterloo and CTV/CKCO at the event as well with the full crew so they will have a good piece no doubt on thier news as well.

I'm not sure about The Weather network later tonight.....I'm still trying to pick clips and load up the FTP server.

I went into this thinking I will only shoot 15 min of video/clips and 1.5 hours later guess what?

So if you're in Waterloo this evening, CTV/CKCO, Global, Rogers cable 10 and in Tomorrow's Kitchener waterloo record newspaper.

Just got out of the newsroom and waterloo day one made Global, CTV/ckco, rogers, and CP24 in Toronto.....

Now we do this all over again saturday and again at the GTR

Awesome work Mark! It's great to see solid media coverage for our events, not just from one network, but from several.

Hopefully we can catch these clips again at 11pm.

Just to let you know we should have something on the Waterloo regional on the Global news (ontario) at 6pm tonight, producer right now has it in after 6:10pm but of course anything can change in news.

I could'nt stay to the end because I had to rush the video back to the station and get it all ingested into Grass Valley and all that but good video and clips was had so all was good.

I should be at GTR regional on the Friday and saturday, now if any teams have any Earth day or environmentally friendly initiatve on the go that would work well next weekend for the Weather network. I know last year one team had something going on and of course there was this dude walking around in a polar bear costume from Team 188

You could call Global news at 416-446-5460 and ask for a DVD copy of the 6 and 11pm news from Saturday.

I will try to see if I can get a copy myself but I remember from the last three GTR's that I shot it was not easy, I am in that newsroom everyday and believe me it's not easy, the air-checks are kept under two locks and keys and the days of just going in there and making dubs are long over.

My advice for those attending the GTR who want copies of the coverage on the various media outlets is to take a look and see who is there and then try to record the various newscasts at home or at the hotels you're staying at if you have a recorder with you. There are several media outlets who may be there at GTR so you may need a rack of recording equipment and monitors this year

Media I think will be attending this year should be CP24 (possibly live with SGT Cam Wooley if his boss lets him play), Global, CityTv, CTV, WeatherNetwork, possibly Global national as well and CBC.

Most of the media usually come on the Friday as competitions will be ongoing by then, CP24 might be there on the Thursday, I'll be there for Global on the Saturday.

I'll see if I can find last saturday's news when I go in there today and this weekend I'm going to try and record it myself at home......at least one of the stations.

I'll try and post here as to which media are in attendance on which day, if there is a reporter along with the camera guy then usually it will be a longer story as opposed to just visuals.

If anyone is still up past 11pm tonight.....Global news ontario should have a little something on the opening/practice day at GTR, I am just looking at the line up and it's just past 11:40pm.

CP24 might be live there tomorrow morning around 8am as well.

The weather network should have still with an Earth hour angle tomorrow or on the weekend, I will be ftp-ing about 4G's of video and clips to them tonight when I get home. GO MODEM!!!!!

Hopefully someone will record Global tonight and CP24's morning show Friday morning, that's the best thing to do.

Of course keep in mind that although it's in the line up tonight for 11:40pm-11:50 on Global and CP24 tomorrow and Weather network, keep in mind that things get dropped from the news line up sometimes minutes before the item goes to air.

I will try and do my best at posting here as to when stuff will air on the various media I see down at the event plus the stuff I shoot and hopefully someone can record it at home.

I work in news so my hours are almost as long as your's during build season minus the all-nighters so I am never home to record anything. I come home to put 6 Anton Bauer 14.4 volt 90 watt camera batteries on charge and sleep, that's all I do here

I do try and keep the RAW video that I shoot but of course for news I don't shoot every match or anything like that but if someone has an ftp server I can upload the raw later on, it's broadcast grade so rather large files.

It was only a few seconds in length, but it summed up the competition as well as you could in that short of a time span.

It was 25 seconds actually, I shot 25 minutes of raw video and they made 25 seconds out if it but it made the cut so that's good.

Today and saturday I'm sure various Toronto media will be there including me for global and the weather network and hopefully there will be some decent coverage of the event.

Looks like CP24 didn't make it this morning, the crew got put on another story.

Tonight! Friday...6pm, 27 seconds of GTR day 2 is in our line-up in the 6:40pm-6:55pm slot and we hope it will re-run on the 11 as well...

Omni TV was there as well with a reporter but I'm not sure what time their news goes to air.
