Re: When FIRST and origami meet...
Wow! Cool!
That took time I'm sure... but it was totally worth it. Did you come up with the design of the basic unit you used to make the solid? Or where can I find how to use this method? Cool! -q |

Re: When FIRST and origami meet...
This reminds me of another cool interpretation of the FIRST logo. Actually a couple.
One, was a metal FIRST logo hanging from above Einstein field back in 2002 & 2001 when FIRST was at Disney, and was made with a very similar cross welded metal structure (but on a much larger & much heavier scale of course.) (I swear I'll track down a pic of that & upload it one of these days here on CD) The second, was the water-jet cut FIRST logo at IRI this past year that was a part of the charity auction. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/31670 If you go to IRI, be sure to make another one of these for the charity auction!! I would bid on it! (If I go this year) Way cool! |

Re: When FIRST and origami meet...
It's a unit from Tomoko Fuse's book, "unit origami" (I think). The unit is "open frame 2". The book is fantastic, in fact it's my favorite; I highly recommend it.
