Global news tonight?

Just got out of the newsroom and waterloo day one made Global, CTV/ckco, rogers, and CP24 in Toronto.....

Now we do this all over again saturday and again at the GTR

Awesome work Mark! It's great to see solid media coverage for our events, not just from one network, but from several.

Hopefully we can catch these clips again at 11pm.

Just to let you know we should have something on the Waterloo regional on the Global news (ontario) at 6pm tonight, producer right now has it in after 6:10pm but of course anything can change in news.

I could'nt stay to the end because I had to rush the video back to the station and get it all ingested into Grass Valley and all that but good video and clips was had so all was good.

I should be at GTR regional on the Friday and saturday, now if any teams have any Earth day or environmentally friendly initiatve on the go that would work well next weekend for the Weather network. I know last year one team had something going on and of course there was this dude walking around in a polar bear costume from Team 188

You could call Global news at 416-446-5460 and ask for a DVD copy of the 6 and 11pm news from Saturday.

I will try to see if I can get a copy myself but I remember from the last three GTR's that I shot it was not easy, I am in that newsroom everyday and believe me it's not easy, the air-checks are kept under two locks and keys and the days of just going in there and making dubs are long over.

My advice for those attending the GTR who want copies of the coverage on the various media outlets is to take a look and see who is there and then try to record the various newscasts at home or at the hotels you're staying at if you have a recorder with you. There are several media outlets who may be there at GTR so you may need a rack of recording equipment and monitors this year

Media I think will be attending this year should be CP24 (possibly live with SGT Cam Wooley if his boss lets him play), Global, CityTv, CTV, WeatherNetwork, possibly Global national as well and CBC.

Most of the media usually come on the Friday as competitions will be ongoing by then, CP24 might be there on the Thursday, I'll be there for Global on the Saturday.

I'll see if I can find last saturday's news when I go in there today and this weekend I'm going to try and record it myself at home......at least one of the stations.

I'll try and post here as to which media are in attendance on which day, if there is a reporter along with the camera guy then usually it will be a longer story as opposed to just visuals.

If anyone is still up past 11pm tonight.....Global news ontario should have a little something on the opening/practice day at GTR, I am just looking at the line up and it's just past 11:40pm.

CP24 might be live there tomorrow morning around 8am as well.

The weather network should have still with an Earth hour angle tomorrow or on the weekend, I will be ftp-ing about 4G's of video and clips to them tonight when I get home. GO MODEM!!!!!
