Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

Thanks to teams 2039 and 2194 for being such awesome alliance partners! It was so much fun to play with Rockford since we are so close to each other.

Congrats to teams 2506, 2970, & 269 for making it to the finals!

Also big congrats to Chicago Knights for the Engineering Inspiration award!

Our team had a great time at the Social. The relay races were fun to watch. I did feel sorry for the pizza guy -- I think he was quite popular when he showed up. Thanks again for organizing it.

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

Thank you everyone for an amazing Wisconsin Regional!

The social was spectacular- it allowed for people to sit and talk, run around and play games, or pummel each other with dodge balls. It's one of the best socials I've been to because it was so easy to socialize

I'd also like to say that the event was very well run- the volunteers did a great job organizing the event and the VIP tours went very well this year.

Congratulations 2039 1625 2194, that strategy in the semifinals was amazing. 1625 it's always a pleasure to play with and against you, 1675 hopes you enjoy our Drove It Like You Stole It award ^_^

Congratulations to team 1714 MORE robotics for winning chairmans this year.

Good luck to everyone- I hope to see some of you down in Atlanta.

Renee

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

What a great weekend! Thanks to the fantastic organizing committee for putting together an awesome regional!

Congratulations to Chris Paulik on winning the Woodie Flowers Award. How appropriate that he was in the pits helping another team with their robot when they were announcing the winner!

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

Thank you 2039 and 2194 for helping us obtain another regional title! It will be awesome to see you all in Atlanta. Hopefully we will be in the same division.
And to Qbranch: that'd be awesome if we could do that. There is another very tough field of competition this year.

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

I'd like to thank all of the teams for participating in the Wisconsin Regional this year. Thanks also to our awesome alliance partners that worked with us to develop our strategies for matches; it was a ton of fun to work with so many different robots and drivers to get things done, and I can't wait to see some of you guys in Atlanta.

Congratulations to all of the award winners this year as well! Way to go C.O.R.E. on winning both Safety and Motorolla Quality, and I know you guys will do well at 10,000 Lakes. Congrats to 2826 Wave Robotics on Rookie All-Star; your robot was so good that I didn't know you guys were a rookie team until I checked! Rockford Robotics, Winnovation, Fondy Fire, congratulations on being the Winning Alliance; let me assure you that we were excited in qualifiers when we were paired with Rockford and very worried when paired against 1625! (I wasn't on-field for our Fondy Fire qualifier but you guys were pertty great too)

Since I can't go one forever thanking teams, congratulations to all of the other award winners! I never thought I'd be so inspired and impressed by all the quality, hard-working teams at the regional; thanks for keeping things very interesting.

Thank you teams 167 and 2062 for making such an awesome alliance!
Our dead battery was pretty disappointing in the semi-finals, but we've learned a lesson: If the battery was labeled "junk", even if the "junk" was crossed out and relabled "ok", it's probably still junk.

Team 537, and he also had a rookie team there but I don't know the team number. I'm sure someone else will be able to fill that in...

And is the Lead Robot Inspector for both the Wisconsin and the North Star Regionals.

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

Quick question. Were any of the matches recorded? If so, (1) huge thanks to whatever team did it and (2) will they be on TBA?

Kevin Kolodziej from 1675 recorded the event on VHS. I think he plans to digitize it and either parse and upload to TBA or upload the raw video and get someone (like me) to help parse it.

Re: 2009 Wisconsin Regional

A big thanks to all of the other teams and volunteers at the regional. We had a great time, and as always learned a lot from the other teams and their robot designs.

Thanks to Winnovation and Fondy Fire for their help in eliminations! Without such great teams on our side, we would have been eaten up by the competition. Two partially broken robots in the last finals match, what a wild time!

Special props go out to 2970 and 2826 for incredible rookie year robots and performance! I'm always stoked to see rookie teams coming in looking like seasoned veterans.
