Robot Scouting Database

Does anybody know where I can find a complete or partialy complete database of robots and their abilities online?
I suspect that one must exist somewhere. Thanks for your help.

I've been concentrated in the two regional competitions that I haven't have time to take a look at scouting done at other competitions...

So please, I know quite a few of you are working really hard on this, so all I ask is a summary of what's happened out there... So that all the teams reading this forum can get a general sense about scouting and what's happening in National.

I know you all have been saying it over and over again, but all I ask is this one more time, then after that I will take on the job of answering scouting question base on what I learn here, unless you all are more than enthusiastic to keep answering questions after questions.

I know people from SOAP and WASH and/or GMCIA have some kind of answer to these... I really hope this new thread can answer a lot of people's questions...

So I guess the two main questions that need to be answered are:

What happened to all the scouting done during the regional competitions and where can we download the data?

What is going to happen in National about scouting?

I'll try to explain...it will no doubt take a few posts to capture everything and say it correctly...

I believe Soukup has >6 teams already committed, but "more is better".

GMCIA would no doubt appreciate help too. (Contact them to find out)

FIRSTBase 340 – again call Mike Spryn

SOAP does not plan to do detailed match results, just the QP and who got BB.

SOAP already supports WASH Data in both our FMPro Kiosks and Web Kiosks. We are now in process of supporting GMCIA in at least our FMPro Kiosk.

WASH and GMCIA also generate their own reports...they are very handy and informative!

EVERYONE should plan to meet near the “SOAP Pit Area” (wherever that is) Thursday afternoon (and stop by from time to time in general) to discuss 2002. Ask for Kenny Ardizzone (108), Mike Sansone(108), Joel Natt(108), Brian Adair(108), Mike Soukup (111), more…

* Look for "SOAP Query" link. What this does for you: Search for WASH-Scouting and/or SOAP-Scoring data from KSC, WMI, IL. (Waiting on Soukup for latest IL WASH data :-)

* Search for team profiles – Look for “Profile Search” link (copied for ease: http://www.soap108.com/services/login3.htm) YOU MUST HAVE REGISTERED TO SEARCH FOR TEAM PROFILES (Register Here: http://www.soap108.com/services/registration.htm) If the password doesn’t arrive in a reasonable amount of time (

Just one quick update: GMCIA will also have data from the KSC regional, collected by one of our member teams at that event.

We would be interested in collaborating with all of you for Epcot. Please contact me at dmitchell@blast.net with the details.

WASH scouting data

What type of data do you want? From WASH, I can give you almost anything related to:
- Roles and a team's performance at those roles (BB, SB, Balancer, Bridge tender, Goal mover, plus more)
- Drive times (1/2 field, over bridge with/without pushing/pulling anything)
- # BB scored and time to score
- # SB scored and time to score
- How well they tend the bridge
- # goals balanced and time to balance
- Time to go under/over bar
- Time to grab a goal (MWR only)

Data was captured for each match at WMR & MWR, so I've got ~8 records for teams at WMR and ~13 records for teams at WMR. There's a few holes in the data though (missing rounds, etc).

Unfortunately I don't have this info available online, I'd have to do it by hand and post it here. The raw data is available through queries on SOAP, so you can get it there. If you want someone to make sense of the data, let me know what you want and I'll work on it.

I can give you the best robots at doing the above tasks, or I can give you min, max, avg of the above fields. If you want some info from me, please post it asap, since I'll have to run the queries (quick), then compile the info in a good format for posting (long).

If you want to help us scout at Nationals, I'm always looking for more teams. I've got 5 teams right now and could use some more help. Email me if you're interested.

Check out the Team 303 database at our website: team303.com. That URL should link you to the proper server. We have detailed information on all the teams that competed at the Mid-Atlantic Regional and we hope to be updating it to include other areas as well. Feel free to contact me if you would like to share information, and please don't forget to give us your robots' information as well.

The self-service database I set up still exists and has about 22 entries in it.

Here are some teams to watch out of the Western region:
(These are my opinions only - any alliance with one or two of these machines should post 400s everytime, and 600s if they work well together)

2 goal balancers with big ball handling: 254, 330
2 goal balancers 192, 115, 368*
Limbo + ball handling 60, 374?6, 255
General purpose limbo and/or bridge and/or big ball: 8, 258, 114, 256, 392(Archer?)
Secret weapons 100, 232 (Didn't do well at regional, but should be improved at Nationals.)

There were a number of robots who could balance one goal well - but I have not included them in this list.
In addition - some of these teams only started performing well late in the competition.
