Re: NASA Launch during Nationals?
Posted by Dave Lavery at 03/30/2001 4:08 PM EST
Engineer on team #116, Epsilon Delta, from Herndon High School and NASA Headquarters. In Reply to: Re: NASA Launch during Nationals? Posted by Alan Federman on 03/30/2001 3:41 PM EST: Actually, the schedule has always been to launch at 11:06am EST. (alan - you are on the wrong coast! note that 11:06 EST is 8:06 PST) The launch schedule was set over a year ago, and has not changed. FIRST has indicated that they may do two things: 1) NASA TV will break away from their coverage of the FIRST competition to cover the launch. When they do, the NASA TV broadcast of the launch will be displayed on all the large screens on each field. 2) The competition itself may be halted for five minutes to allow everyone to run outside and watch the launch, then come back in and resume play. For this to be successful, everyone will have to have a lot of discipline to move in and out of the arenas quickly, but it could work. -dave lavery NASA Headquarters |
