Team 40 Autonomous Mode

We finally got our autonomous mode to work at Chesapeake. We would like to thank Beth Finn for the Vision Code for the C++ teams and Team 190 for help with getting the camera calibrated. We are hoping to attend Atlanta via the wait list.

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

40's auto was downright scary at Chesapeake, and I'm going to say right now that I doubt any other team will come close to achieving this level of success by championships.

Kudos to you all, it was a pleasure watching you on the field.

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

Team 40 has by far the best autonomous mode of any robot I have seen so far. During a match, they went out, found a trailer and scored on it, then the trailer drove away. Team 40 stopped firing, followed the trailer, reacquired the target, and fired the rest of the balls into the trailer.

What's really cool is that there are few robots who are even capable of doing what you do (which is basically score on any trailer that is in front of them). The combo of the turreted shooter and swerve drive makes it easy for the robot to find a drive to a target, then make final adjustments to score in it.

Big kudos to you guys. I hope it works out that you can go to Atlanta (I can't wait till BattleCry to see you auto mode again).

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

This autonomous was one of the most impressive things to watch at Chessie. It was one of the main reasons we deferred and chose team 40. It was an honor working with you guys.

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

That autonomous mode is truly impressive. Not only was it impressive when it worked, but seemed to work in every match. I really hope you guys make to Atlanta because you are definitley among the elite robots this year, arguably one the best, if not the best shooter this year.

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

Thanks everyone for the feedback, we are very excited on how well the robot is working, we really hope to go to Atlanta this year. This might be one of the best robots we've ever put together, it would be unfortunate if it didn't make it to the big show.

Re: Team 40 Autonomous Mode

Team 40's auton is awesome.

Team 2056 is also at this level. They do not miss in auton. If it is not a perfect lock, then they wait and unload within the first 2 secomnds of human. However, there were at least 8 times during the weekend at Waterloo where they got 7 balls in during auton.

It was really impressive to watch, because until that point I hadn't seen anyone score consistently yet in autonmous mode.(By the way, their swerve is pretty cool too).

I wish I could have watched 2056's autonomous, I'm sure it'll be just as good, if not better for GTR.
