there is a hole in the top of the valve, and that is connected to an air nozzle like you would find on a shop air hose, and when you squeeze the trigger it lets a tiny amount of air out, creating low pressure on one side of the rubber seal, which makes the seal get pulled up, therefore letting all the air into the barrel. does that answer your question?? if not let me know and i can tell you whatever you want to know
