Re: Archimedes 2009

yes, its going to be very interesting to see how all of this shakes out. because it does look like we have a very even division. that makes for a lot more exciting play

Re: Archimedes 2009

I'm all for even pairings and exciting matches. We had a very frustrating regional because, although out bot/human player consistently put up a very respectable 30-46 points per match, we were stuck either playing against powerhouse alliances or with weak alliance partners who put up very low numbers. Looking forward to seeing how our bot performs in a stronger alliance and on a more even playing field.

That is my favorite part about championships, that all alliances are fairly strong and you are almost guaranteed to never have a "cant win" match, and none are a cake walk either.

I agree.
No-shows/unmoving robots killed us a couple of times, as the trailers were topped off completely.

Sounds like a great idea. Also it would be nice if teams gave links to videos of matches they ran.

Not really too true. in 2004, we were on another alliance who built their robot in 4 hours because fedex lost their robot. They really arent too even always but they are more even than regionals for a large part.

Either way, I am excited to be in Archimedes which I haven't been in since 2004.
Not only that but I get to play against my alma mater team 1002 the CircuitRunners.

And remember, not every winning alliance this year was a #1 alliance. I would rather have 3 solid robots instead of 2 super stars and another that isnt too sharp.

Hopefully we can be the Hometwon heroes. I think we have the 2nd shortest drive if not the shortest drive.
Good luck to everybody! I look forward to playing with all of yall

Re: Archimedes 2009

even though it would be amazing to drive my own car to championships and be able to sleep in my bed while there, getting to be on a bus for 8 hours with team 1902 is something i just cant pass up =]

Re: Archimedes 2009

psh, powerhouses. 3 determined, overlooked, and awesome robots can take down a powerhouse team with a little luck. we did it!
and we're all alone there from NC, our parent team didn't qualify for championships and our sister team couldn't afford the regional this year =(
