Video footage of match 119 on Galileo

Posted by Ryan McElroy at 04/14/2001 6:22 AM EST

Student on team #492, Titans, from International School and KPCB.

Hi there. I'm trying to find someone with video footage of match 119 from the Galileo field. This is the match where Titan Robotics' robot "Prometheus" jumped off the bridge and stuck the landing, earning us the play of the day award. However, no one on our team had the foresight to record it. So if anyone out there has this video footage, please let me know and we can arrage a way to get it to me. Thank you

High probability that we digitized it...send a quick email to wasssoap@soap108.com to remind us...will post on our website as soon as we get the chance...

Also have the NASA rocket launch...

Yep...we have the footage...G119 is about 16.3 MB QuickTime format...the jump is about 47 sec into the movie

NASA Launch is 27.5 MB Quicktime...4 min 42 sec long
Key times:
0:06 Mission Control
1:14 more Mission Control
2:10 LiftOff!
3:20 some boosters fall off
3:45 can start to see outer space
4:23 another booster falls off
Can also see Lake Okeechobee (spell?)
(Its the blue 'hole' on the left...moves to center of screen)

You can get quicktime player FREE at www.apple.com/quicktime/

I plan to head over to to web server this afternoon and post these and other movies.

p.s. Nice Landing!

Great footage...one question though:
How exactly did you get it into a Quicktime format? It looks like it was a recording of the webcast from Galileo field. Did you guys borrow the raw footage from FIRST? Did you have someone recording the webcast (if so, then I would LOVE to know how)? I am trying to obtain videos of FIRST in order to "sell" the project to prospective teams in the 2002 season. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris,
They were actually set up down in Florida, recording footage live directly onto computer as it happened...so whatever you saw on the screens for each field(or were recording yourself if you had a VCR hooked up,) that's what they have...

Nate

Nate's correct.

We digitized direct from the FIRST Video feeds into
our computers. It seems you are after trying to record direct from the web feed.... I'll privately send you the email of a NASA person to contact regarding this.
