Engineer on team #217, Team Macomb - Royal Fusion, from Utica Schools, Fraser Schools, Warren Cons. School and Ford Motor Company. In Reply to: Air Force Academy Posted by Courtney Taylor on 04/16/2001 6:36 PM EST: : Can anyone give me information about what engineering programs the USAFA has for cadets? i am interested in going there and need some info. Thanks Courtney, I went to USAFA (class of '93). I majored in Aernautical Engineering. USAFA has one of the best AE programs in the Country (that's why I went). The one major distinction between USAFA and other universities is that they break up Aerospace engineering into two majors: Aernautical and Astrospace. The Astro degree focuses entirely on space travel, satellites, etc; while the Aero degree focuses entirely on aircraft design, engineering, etc. USAFA also has excellent Civil, Electrical, Chemical and Computer Science engineering programs; but the Aero and Astro degrees are definitely the flagship degree programs. When I attended, they were not yet accredited in ME, but I know they have the ME program now. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. -Paul |
