Re: Galileo 2009

I just wanted to thank every team on behalf of WildStang for making this division as thrilling and intense as it was. I couldn't have been happier to have seen the teams I did and the opportunities we had to be with several great teams. I hope to see many of you guys in the future. Great Job everyone!

Re: Galileo 2009

Congrats to 67, 111, and 971. Y'all played really well.

708 & 45, you were great alliance partners. For a team that had never made elims before 2009, being selected at all three of our events this season was a dream come true. Thanks for being a part of that.

I miss the Championship already!

Libby,

It was honor to compete with both 1923 and 45. You were both great teams, and unfortunately we couldn't take it any farther.

Thanks for the great alliance, and congrats to 11, 67, and 971!!!

Side Note:
As this was my first experience traveling to Atlanta, I am thoroughly enthusiastic for next year!!! 708 will be back!!!

Re: Galileo 2009

I just wanted to say how amazingly competitive and just plain BEASTLY this division was. You know when you have teams like 179, 20, 11, 461, etc. being passed up in the draft that there are just so many quality teams to choose from. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Atlanta is an entirely different game. Everyone should be extremely proud to say they played in the division that won it all in 2009.

I think one of the highlights for us was going out and playing in qualification match 42 against 45, 67, and 111. Just being in that match made our day.

Thanks to all the teams we talked to and played with. If any of you who swung by our pit and saw our sweet t-shirts are interested in purchasing one, head on over to the PG Store at http://pg1646.spreadshirt.com

Again, thanks and congratulations to all the teams from Galileo.

Not sure if you guys realize how amazing Galileo was-both the GM Industrial Award AND the Motorola Quality Award were won by Galileo teams (67 and 1717 respectively) as well as the World Champions coming from Galileo. Amazing guys, simply amazing.

Re: Galileo 2009

I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to FRC Team 2775, lead through a terrific competition experience by Greg Needel. There are moments in our personal histories with FIRST that are stand-outs for us. Watching 2775 was a stand-out moment for me, knowing that so many teams have been inspired by these rookies and how some helped them along the road to Championship. Also knowing that there is great opportunity for growth and development of FIRST teams in Tennessee and the impact that this rookie team is having and will continue to have by inspiring the people they meet, encourage, and help in their region. It was really something special to be able to follow you guys through the season. Congratulations on a job well done.

I would also like to give a shout out to Gatorzilla out of Dickinson, Texas. You made us proud! I can't wait to see what you do next year. Seriously.

Rookies rocked this year in FRC. That's the truth.

I must say that the finals on Galileo were amazing and the finals on Einstein were epic! I'd like to send a thank you to our fellow teams in Galileo, that was an amazing division to be a part of! Congrats to 111, 67, 971! Way to go 971 for representing the West Coast and even better representing California! Hope we get to see a lot of you at IRI.

There's some pictures of Raptor on CD. They aren't the most up to date though, as we changed things up a little and gave it a hopper. This made it even more dangerous to get cornered by.

Re: Galileo 2009

Just want to apologize to the people who came by our pit asking for me, I didn't get a chance to see a lot of people who I had promised I'd say hello to (45, 27, 1511, and 766's students). Just hectic out there.

It's true, though the scores were nearly identical--certainly not enough better to definitively claim "second best alliance" status.

1717, 870, 2775 lost by 30 and 16 in Galileo Finals.
217, 98, 247 lost by 32 and 17 in Einstein Finals.

Those were the best performances against the winning alliance. Props to 67, 111, 971 for a very sweet run to the Championship!

Second, maybe not so cheerful comment.
For teams who competed on Galileo, did you notice that the blue alliance station seemed to lose communication throughout the weekend? At first I thought "oh we must have something loose", but after hearing of it happening to team after team, I raised an eyebrow. Did any of you also notice this?
If that was on the side closest to the tunnel then yes our robot, had a feild issue in our first qualifier. We had comms, we tested before and after and it worked fine. We concluded a feild issue, but o well, what happened happened.

Re: Galileo 2009

Haha, when I went over to Greg, 2775 seemed a bit upset about pairings during qualifications, but I think we all knew that they would be in eliminations on Saturday afternoon. I still think team DeWALT is the most impressive rookie of the season. I take into account their partnership with their main sponsor instead of just pure robot accomplishments which by the way include St. Louis Finalists along with being Galileo division Finalists

2775, your future is very bright, and I'm proud to have another yellow and black team in FIRST that can say that.

The red player station was closest to the tunnel.

We, 25, were on the blue alliance exactly three times, each at a different player station. We experienced no issues.
