Re: Championship Thanks from Team Xbot

Sure was a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed the strategy sessions between matches. I'm not the coach, but I like to see what teams come up with to try to get the W.
Earlier, during the build season, we watched a video of 148. The first reaction is awesome. The second thought was how do you beat a machine like that, a machine that can potentially score so many rocks. Another mentor on our team came up with the idea of not giving them any ammunition. If was neat to put that idea into practice against some awesome robots. By not allowing too many rocks on the field, we were able to get pretty far in Achemedes.
Again, thanks for picking us up and taking us on a wild ride.

Re: Championship Thanks from Team Xbot

Madison,
First of all it was so neat to see this happen on your birthday!!!

All of us from the Pac Northwest were pulling for you and for 1318 on opposite corners of the stadium!! It was great to see two PNW teams do so well!

Your run was great to watch and your team is great fun to be around.
I know we will never forget that when we came home after our first regional win 2 years ago...your team was at the airport late Saturday night to welcome us home. I will NEVER forget that and the friendship and grace you have always displayed.

Your team has always been an inspiration for us and for the entire PNW.

Congratulations on a GREAT season...

Maybe next year we will finally get a chance to play for a title together!!

Re: Championship Thanks from Team Xbot

You guys had an awesome alliance and kept our entire alliance running most of the match. 488, 118 and 343 put together some great machines and strategy to back em up. Best of luck to you all in the future!

Is it Madison's birthday again?

Congratulations to team 488! You did the Pacific Northwest proud! What a great way for the seniors to finish...to go out with such a monster accomplishment.

Well done!

Re: Championship Thanks from Team Xbot

Madison,
Your team had a great robot design this year and great drivers also. Your team was high on our scouting pick list if we (343) were to make it in the top eight.
To be honest we had several match's that bothered us and match 34 against 488 and 61 was one of them. We have found out scouting to watch for robots and drivers that play the game with a purpose, repeatability and execution. Team 488 had that this year. Congratulations on a very fine year!

343 was honored that 488 picked us to play with you and 118 during eliminations. The first thing I said to our team in the stands is we have a very good chance to make it to the finals on Archimedes with this alliance. The reason was the diversity of the three robots was great. 488 with the hidden moon rocks who knows how many you would dump on an opponent. 118 with the turreted shooter/dumper running empty cells and dumping super cells and 343 with our SKWID AKA swerve/skid steer bot that had a fast power dumper.

I think it took the wind out of all our sails a little when we lost the first match in the finals by two points, I still can't believe it.

I want to congratulate teams 222, 1218 and 2753 your robots and teams were awesome all weekend and no one can say you didn't earn your way to Einstein. It was a scary alliance and I salute you.

Re: Championship Thanks from Team Xbot

for my tenth year in FIRST robotics, this championship was some of the most fun that i have ever had at a FIRST competition. i was so thrilled when we were picked by team 488 and 118 b/c i knew that we could get somewhere.

again, thanks to team 488 for picking us. and thanks to team 118 for giving me a totally new view on how to look at strategy. the strategy sessions allowed me to learn a lot. even though the game will be different, i will take all that i learned that saturday afternoon and take it into next season as well. those matches were so amazing, and i had so much fun getting to meet and play with 488 and 118 for the first time. it is always fun to get to know new, great teams. i still am shocked that we didn't win that first match though...

i had an amazing time this past weekend, and i was thrilled that we got to the finals... although at that point, i wished for just a little bit more

1503, 1538, 1649, and 176. dont hang your head, b/c your alliance was awesome! each team had great robots, and i loved the epic matches that we had against each other.

222, 1218, and 2753. ya'll were great. end of story.

thanks to everyone that made this weekend absolutley amazing! i know that i had a great time
