Re: Great Human Player in 2009
From our scouting data, 1717 and 687 had the best human players at the regionals we attended.

Thanks for the shout outs! This is actually 2415's human player, not Andrew. I just don't have a Chief Delphi account (I would spend WAY too much time on the forums) Mike from 1771 was great. And Seth and Sam from 343 were both awesome, not to mention Sam's dancing before the finals. See you guys at Championships! Meredith (the red head) |

Re: Great Human Player in 2009
Something that disappoints me is that a lot of teams choose because of who the team is and their status. I seen lots of good human players in michigan and it looks that pretty much they human players on here that were chosen are all on veteran teams. Team 217 The thunderchickens switch between different human players and from what I have seen from their strategy, they dont really shoot because they load their robot in autonomous mode. Im just saying you guys really need to see these human players in person. I know for a fact that I am a good human player for may team. Volunteers and other teams even told me how good I am. There are a lot of good human players out there you guys should really make these choices after the world championship or even IRI.

Re: Great Human Player in 2009
The one big thing that i have been noticing is that there are two types of human players, smart shooters and "not smart" shooters.
The "not smart" shooters will not wait for the easier shots and instead will take half court shots. They may be really good, but they could be better if they wait for a easier shot. When they sink a couple of half court shots they get noticed. The Smart shooters wait for the good shots. They will prey on anyone that comes near, but since they only shoot the occasional super cell bomb they never get noticed because they are not glamorous amazing shots. They fly under the radar and no one really notices unless they are keeping %. thats my 2 cents. |

Someone needs to post the video of him shooting a FULL FIELD hail mary at the end of Newton Semi-Final 1-2. The supercell hit the floor about 3 feet short of a trailer against the opposing driver station. The ball bounced right into the trailer! That was the second highest combined score this year (we won the match 133 to 92). Last edited by Rick : 20-04-2009 at 16:30. |

Re: Great Human Player in 2009
Team 1918 was on the receiving end of Team 177's Payload Specialist. In autonomous, we would drive from the corner to the outpost and stop at the outpost for an empty cell. In most cases, this didn't result in any balls in our trailer from the corner. In finals match 3, he put about 6 in our trailer from half court. We lost the match 104-98. Those shots made the difference. Great Job
(just kidding). |

1596 Instigators had an amazing HP. He was hitting 20 balls minimum a match from the outpost.

Re: Great Human Player in 2009
Team Rush 27's HP was amazing. A few games hinged on his/hers success with several SuperCell shots making it in.

i agree. Rush had a really good human player. You could always turn to him for an impressive super cell shot. In many of the matches, human players have brought the team to success. I know our human player made a few game changing super cell shots. As well in Midwest, Ashley from 2022(i believe) was amazing. She was key to our alliance, without her we might not have made it as far. There were a lot of really good human players in Michigan: 33, 27, 3119, 1(definitely one of the best i have seen), etc.
