Re: pic: Team IFI

I just have a couple questions for yall. Do you guys each build 2 bots by chance to practice during the time between build and competition. Not only were your machines great, but all of your drivers were phenomenal! How long does it take for you guys to finish off your robots? The whole 6 or earlier?
I just figured I would ask since yall are 5 of the top teams in the world.
Congrats to all of yall

They make various robotics components including the control system used prior to this year as well as the Victor speed controllers and Spike relays.

No knock on 67, 111 and 971, but any 3 of these robots (even though the chances they would be allied is 0 until IRI possibly) would have won it all in my opinion.

Team 177 was also sponsored by IFI this year. They supplied 177 with some jumbo-size VEX-style frame elements.

We noticed.

Great group of robots and teams right there. Every team should work towards there example.

My wild guess is that the first step would be to ask IFI if they would sponsor your team.

I know 254 does, and I'm sure the others do as well.
If you have the resources to build a second robot, you really should. This is the first year 971 did it and it helped us immensely. I don't know that we would have won our regional without it.

When I saw this picture forming, I attempted to stop it before the nightmares could form in my head (and that was before 217 and 1114 showed up).

All of these teams and robots are incredible. I know friends on most of the teams (1114, 148, 2056, and 217). I need to meet with the 254 guys, b/c I love their designs. Their 2006 robot was the inspiration for our 2009 robot.

Anyways, to the quote above....before we formed our Championship alliance I would have agreed with you, but after working with 111 and 971...I'd have to disagree.

It would be one crazy match though.....
