Re: Ultimate Alliance

Not sure if we meet the qualification of ultimate, but 1717 and us have been wanting to team up all season. It'd certainly be a heck of a good time.

By the way, if our dumper was having issues at states, that was the first time in our whole season that is was being problematic. the only other time we had an issue was at Lansing when one of the leads fell off it on our last qualifying match...

An all shooter alliance of 1114, 217 and 1717 would be really cool.

Re: Ultimate Alliance

First off i would like to thank all of those that have put us in thier ultimate alliance pick.

Second, i would pick any of the following to make an ultimate alliance(in no particular order): 1625, 111, 67, 217, 2970, 234, 2753, 71, 45, 121, 2056, 1114, 1918, 469, 254, 968, etc. etc. There are way too many more.

Our style of play does not appear that dominant on the webcast, based on the way that they constantly switch camera views.

I am not sure any other team played the way that we did effectively, with multiple quick hitting smaller scores v. one or two larger scorers.

From what I noticed on the videos, it appears that we are only scoring 2-4 balls when we are on camera. What you don't see is that we are doing that 3 or 4 times in addition to the 7-13 balls in our first score.

We played that way in our first match at Cass Tech and we will continue that way until we are done playing with this robot. Its the only thing we know how to do.

My ultimate alliance would be the three best robots that we competed with:

217 111 and 68.

Re: Ultimate Alliance

I'm very happy that we are mentioned in this thread. I would personally love to play on an alliance with 217 and 67 or 68. I think that would be some incredible matches. I would love to be a part of some of that incredible strategy of the Thunderchickens.

Re: Ultimate Alliance

That would be a very cool match. 1726 was right across from us in atlanta and it was cool seeing our "clone" everytime I looked out of our pit. 1717's robot is just incredibly clean and well engineered and they are a very effective scoring machine.

I would like to see an all helix shooter match. Perhaps 1717, 1771, and 1726 vs. 70, 217, and 368? I'd love to see any alliance with both 217 and 1717 together, unless I was on the other end of the field.

Re: Ultimate Alliance

My ultimate alliance is 111, 67, 971.

At no other time this year was I scratching my head saying, "I have no idea how we are going to beat these guys."

The timeout during Einstein was mostly to try and figure out a crazy strategy that might work against them. I had nothing ...

Seriously, these guys had no one that could match up with them ... no one.

Re: Ultimate Alliance

I have to agree with Paul. Our team slaved over strategy against the #1 alliance, and just couldn't deal with their massive scoring and great synergy. Great job, 67/111/971. Btw, in response to the all-shooter posts-- although it doesn't qualify as an all helixed shooter match, there was one match that we played with six total turreted shooters

Something I'd like to see at an NJ offseason:

103+25+56 vs. 2753+816+1923 Seriously though, NJ offseason alliances will be sick.

IRI Alliance: 234+111+67
