July 31st / August 1st

Hello,

I was curious, from a pure logical stand point, is July 31st, August 1st a good date for an off season? I noticed none of the events take place this weekend and was wondering if there was some sort of other established events that would make this weekend less than ideal.

If location context helps, the Minneapolis suburbs (Minnesota).

I know I didn't give you much information but I was just wondering if there was ANY VAGUE possibility that this date was bad.

That is the exact date of IRI, one of the most popular off-season events in the country so it would probably not be the best date.

Note: Of course, it depends how many teams from your area would be going to IRI.

Sorry to ask this in the same thread, but would this good for a cali event also?

Thank you for letting me know! I thought I read through most of the off seasons. I don't think too many teams from our area will be going to IRI. (if any)

Yeah refer to Herodotus' response above, it's the same date as IRI.

I know 980 usually goes, 330, 254, 968 have all gone in the past and 973 is planning on going this year. It probably wouldn't be the best date.

I know we're planning on attending your offseason possibly, so that would be bad.

Thanks Adam for the heads up. I'll have to find another date for it, maybe the end of august?

I'd move it a week later just to be safe. You'll need all the people you can get to get an off season event off the ground (and that way I could go up and volunteer !_!).

Very good point. Plus it could be difficult (at least more expensive) to get another field to the Midwest.

We are now talking about July 20th through 26th sometime... Who do I contact to see if we can split up costs so we can ship it from here to IRI right away?

Well, Wisconsin Invitational (537) is July 25, but that really only affects me :/ Of course don't change it for just me, I'm not even certain I can go to volunteer on my own (mainly, if I can get a hold of a car)

I like it. This saves us a trip from Kokomo to Indy.
