Re: 2009 IRI- Who has applied?

48 has accepted, and payment is on its way. FedEx Priority Overnight.

Since I was one of the "early adopters", I want to make sure - did anyone who filled out the form after 11:59 receive any email response other than "Thank you for your submission! Please contact us for any questions"?

That was the response I received this morning when I submitted at ~4:45AM.

I dropped it regular mail, hope it gets there in time.

I hate to say it, but previous posts indicate they're going by postmark rather than date of receipt.

Speaking of twins any idea what happened with the Martian Twins?

In the first post quoted 494 applied but not 70 as of May 7th. In the invitation post, 70 is invited but not 494. 70 was the more accomplished twin in terms of FiM points but obviously they have the same robot and both teams were at IRI 08.

I am wondering:
A. Did both teams apply? (seems likely)
B. Is this a trend where IRI is getting more selective and can't take both twin robots of the collaborating teams? (not necessarily a bad thing, as Jane says, IRI covers a broad scope of FIRST)

Re: 2009 IRI- Who has applied?

1923 filled out the acceptance form at midnight, and according to UPS our check should be in tomorrow morning at 10:30.

As excited as I am for competition, the emotion running through my head is pride. I'm extremely proud of the students on 1923 (as captain, and the one who does all the organizational work, I'm referred to more often as 'team mommy' than a student) for all the hard work they put in this season. I hope the mentors, teachers, and students on all the other invited teams are just as proud to be recognized for their efforts. Y'all did it! Congratulations.

I have to say that I am in the same boat as you. This is one of our most successful years of competition in this program. Getting invited to IRI is just the cherry on top, a very big cherry Needless to say I am proud of our team's efforts this year and as you mentioned I am sure many others are proud of their respective teams. Ditto on the congrats!

Re: 2009 IRI- Who has applied?

Team 1094, the River City Robots Channel Cats, and Fish Boy are disappointed about not making the cut this year. We really enjoyed the competition for the last three years. There is always next year.

There are some awsome teams and robots on the list. Good luck to all!
