College Student on team #461, West Side Boiler Invasion, from West Lafayette High School and Purdue University . Where did you guys get the orange conveyor belting material you used on your drive system this year? I had a chance to check it out at IRI and it's really grippy stuff! -Joe Taylor |

Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems. In Reply to: Chief Delphi: where'd you get that amazing conveyor belting? Posted by Joe Taylor on 05/15/2001 3:00 PM EST: I contacted Motion Industries and asked them for belt suppliers. They put me in touch with Bill at Jason Industrial (800.527.1247). They bent over backwards to get me belts that would work. By the way, this company has a wide variety of belt solutions, but they carry very little stock on hand. There factory (in NJ I think) can take 3 weeks to fill an order, so... order early. FYI the belt we used was backed with 1/4 inch red Latex . The Latex is molded right into the belt. We never had a belt that the Latex seperated from the rest of the belt. We loved them after we learned that we had to keep them clean if we wanted to maintain the best grip possible on the carpet. Good luck. Joe J. |
