Ignite Talk on FIRST Robotics, "Why Every H.S. in AZ Should have a H.S. Robotics Team

Here is a new venue modeled after the TED.com talks. It is much shorter though but still kind of cool! I presented the following 5 min. Presentation, 20 slides, 15 sec. each-that about 1 to 2 sentences per slide. It was a challenge!
http://ignitephoenix.blip.tv/file/2261631/
I will try to do better next time. But I did get the FIRST word out!!!!

That was an awesome presentation, and a very convincing argument as to why it is so badly needed. I also thought you did a great job. That looks like a very difficult thing to do.

Any chance of putting up the presentation or template as a white paper?

Here is the slide show on google docs as a PDF
You can go under options and set to run as a powerpoint
http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=F...eb43eb36&hl=en

If you send me your email, I will share it with you. You might not be able to get it otherwise, I am working on a new way...

Very nice presentation! I thought you did a fantastic job, speaking not just about FIRST, but about the challenge of STEM emphasis as a whole.

And you hit the nail on the head with the satellite shot of your school campus!

Great slideshow! The elevator speech for FIRST is such a challenge. You did a great job.
(Try to keep FIRST in caps)
Ignite is very popular here in Baltimore. Sold out performances.

Thanks for posting this. Some other mentors from 488 and I are hopeful we can do the same at one of Ignite gatherings in Seattle.

Wow, I just might come back to this thread in September when Team 93 is gearing up for the rookies as a quick way to explain what FIRST is about. Even after that, I would still want to use it at our biggest PR day of the year, Octoberfest.

That presentation was fast and informative - reminds me of the Pecha Kucha presentations we had to give during my senior capstone course at Purdue.

For those that don't know, the whole point of Pecha Kucha is to keep the audience engaged and informed at the same time by limiting the presentation to 20 slides at 20 seconds each. You made it look pretty easy here but it's fairly difficult to quickly state your point and move on from slide to slide.
