Fast Times

The easiest way to show low scores in Minesweeper is to edit the file C:\Windows\winmine.ini

But, if you want a good time without cheating, i can beat a rubik's cube consistantly under 5 min and I once had a time of 3:37. Can anyone top that?

Can't say I'm that fast. I'm too cautious. When I solve expert, it's usually around 300 secs.

But to make it more interesting, I have taken to NOT flagging the mines. When you finally have exposed the last free spot, it's quite dramatic when all the flags appear at once.

And another thing... Has anyone ever seen an "8" in Minesweeper? I have only once.

"8"

I think he was refering to a square with 8 mines around it, which I have only seen in a custom mode....

I didn't edit the .ini file. This is an actual unretouched screen shot. (Aside from converting to .jpg format to save downloading time.) Can you figure out my secret?

This one I did retouch just to show what the "8" looks like.

bah

too bad you weren't a little closer when you made a new "Best Times" window, that isn't what the minesweeper one looks like at all. But, nice try... just out of curiousity, what did you use to make the window? VB, C++?

Jolly good show.

Windows 2000 is the only version of windows that I would ever consider running.

I thought I started a thread about my high scores in Solitaire, but now it just seems to be about Minesweeper. So much for that I guess.
