Home Depot or Lowes?

Our team uses Home Depot.
Useing the po and the tax exempt thing is a major pain in the patooie...checking out usally involves 10 minutes of the cashier on the phone at least. Thats when they know what they are doing.

45 minutes to check out.
No line.

Home Depot

But Chase Pitkin gets alot of our business too( they're owned by local grocery powerhouse Wegmans and have been around as long as I can remember).

Fast frank....

Yes, only 1 Lowe's, so we also used Home Depot. I went to Lowes once and it was so much better.

And if you didnt know already...... You know Macy's? That used to be Stern's? By Target? Well it's coming down probably within the month (July), and a brand new Lowe's will be put up in it's place. Supposedly it is going to stretch across that ENTIRE PARKING LOT. I dunno if it will be done in time for next year's FIRST, but either way, I think the Home Depot just a few miles down the road, and still within the same town is in big trouble

Thumbs up Home depot

My team uses Home Depot becasue of the that fact that there are two ( one of which is a 24HR) within 20 min. of where we build our robot and there will be a third one opening in about a month which is even closer. so yea we use Home Depot

Tulsa is screwy enough that where there is a Lowes or a Home Depot, they are right next door to each other. I'm really not kidding, so we just go in two cars and check out the price/avalibility of what we need at both places by way of cell phones. Home Depot started to realize what we did and they started giving us the stuff free, so its mostly home depot now unless they don't have what we need. Price wars are wonderful

We mostly use our local Ace Hardware since its about 3 mins from the Quest Shop, but if they don't have what we need we goto the Home Depot, which is about 10 mins away, the nearest Lowes is in Milwaukee....

Menards, Home Depot and Kitz n Pfeil for mechanical stuff... Appleton Electronics and Radio Shack for electrical stuff! My favorites (out of the two catergories) are Kitz n Pfeil and Appleton Electronics but... we probably use Home Depot the most - since it's 3 minutes away from the school (depending on who's driving of course!! )

we just got Home Depots. Back in the day, Builders Square was the shiz. Now we just have Home Depot, Lowes, and Menards. I'd have to say that Menards is by far the best. They have a much higher quality of lumber and better selection overall. I'd also like it because they seem to have lots of good looking ladies that work there. Nothing better than women and powertools.

lol

hehe:

That decission was out of question for us: Neither!

We had a very nice machine shop this year (Advanced Animations (=AA)) ;-)

AA built robots for entertainment purposes professionally. they built the Terminator Robots and part of the MIb ride for Universal Studios in Florida. Because of financial trouble they had to close recently, so we lost our machin shop for next year.

But as said, to asnwer the question, we didn't use Lowes or Home Depot, we worked with whatever we were able to find at AA, becaus it was free for us ;-)

So long, Phil

Lowes :)

Lowes is my choice...

Even though we dont really use any of them for parts to build our robot...

I just think Lowes is a cool place to go and kill time sometimes on the weekend...they've got so much stuff and it's impossible to look at it all...Menards is pretty cool, seems to be a little more "all around purpose" than Lowes though.
