Well since it was announced today that competition season will be only 5 weeks I wonder which regionals are being squished together in one weekend.

The only week 6 regionals were the Minnesota events and the MSC, so I'm thinking it's safe to assume those are just being moved around rather than everything compressing.

We can paint the George R. Brown Convention Center bleachers for you...

I understand that week 4 will have the most competitions, with week 5 being the lightest.

Re: 2010 North Carolina Regional

VCU is always packed in with 65+ teams. I would expect that VCU-attending teams would appreaciate more than 7 matches with fewer teams. Only attending 7 matches in an entire season is somewhat depressing cost-wise when you compare it to the Michigan model where teams had 20+ matches by default (who also proved to be statistically superior in Atlanta...).

This also allows the Charlotte Metro area to finally get off its butt and have a home regional. Compared to the amount of tech. (think UNC-Charlotte area) firms in Charlotte, there have been relatively few FRC teams over the years.

Re: 2010 North Carolina Regional

I emailed the regional director for N.C. and it looks like the new Tarheel regional will be in the Dorton Arena during week 5. But she cautioned that it wasn't 100% official. She also stated the VCU, MD, and DC would not conflict. GA is week 1, and SC is week 4.

Re: 2010 North Carolina Regional

Team 79 is on the wait list for the NC Regional. We might look into the other regionals that week but we hope to get in for Raleigh.

Well this is ideal timing. While some sick-nasty notorious florida teams are coming to my home state, I'll be 2,000 miles away (probably taking exams). Hopefully I can watch via webcast....

Stalkers - you found us in CT last year, and now you'll find us in Raleigh. Should be a fun time!
