Jobs...

What are some of the jobs people have during the summer or during school?

I just got hired at Rolls-Royce doing data entry for $10per hour. It's a full time job with ability to do part time during school. Lot better than mowing grass

i was going to be a camp counsler, but my science/research teacher would have nothing of it (for those of you who know mrs champey, she can be very intimidating ). so, she gave me an application for BNL (Brookhaven National Labs) for a summer research position. so, starting monday, i'm working there. i don't get paid though .

for money, i seem to be doing odd jobs around the neighbor hood. one thing, i babysit most sunday mornings, cause my mom and her friend go running. so, i watch my mom's friend's 3 kids (two boys are 11, one girl is 8 or 9) and make about 20 bucks that way. then, i got an even stranger job. one of the friend's of another of my mom's friend's (this is getting annoying, isn't it) is going away. they have some animals, two goats, a pony, and a bunch of chickens. so, someone needs to feed the animals every day. who gets the call? i do. so, i get to play 'farmer ian' for the next few days, but i made 60 bucks. then, my aunt's boyfriend needed someone to copy and paste names into the contact cards in microsoft outlook for his business. who do they ask? of course, me. so, i can make somewhere between $100 and $200 from that. i think i'm actually making more money than i would have as a counsler , and all of the money is off the books, so i actually get to keep it all .

Haha, don't worry wysiswyg, working's no fun anyway - unless you're doing something you'll enjoy... which not many people do at the age of 15/16/17 lol.

Anyway, yeah - I'm a "utility clerk" (fancy name for 'bagger') at a local grocery store. I get $6.25/hour... the only nice part about it is I get paid 1 1/2 time for holidays and Sundays. I need a new job!!

im proud to say that for the past 2 years (well 2 years in sept) i have been working at a Mail Boxes Etc.
it has to be one of the best places to work at and i must have like the best employer and manager that are out there... i mean how many of you can leave work half an hour early and still get paid for that half hour?
if you are looking for a job and there is one in the area i would recommend it... the hours are nice, the people that come in are nice, and if ur lucky the manager is nice

Alright, I heard someone was applying to work in ice cream... don't! Run away and fast! I work in an ice cream place at the mall(many of you have probably heard about this) minimum wage for working in a hole in the wall with no chance of increase. Remember, food business=working with people... hungry people, hungry people are rude and complacient. It's not fun. Trust me. I've been working there for a year and a month and some of the stories I have would turn you out of the ice cream bus soo fast! Anywayz, stay cool. Have fun... I'll be the one reading in the ice cream booth all summer! lol
*hugz to all as alwayz*

PS. It's not all bad, the other part timers are nice and one of the bosses when he's in a good enuff mood is hilarious.. makes fun of customers!

Great. Another Best Buy Idiot.

Me? I've worked at a Days Inn hotel as a Front Desk person for the last 2 years (started when I was 16)... sure, I only make 7.00 an hour, but the benefits kick arse... by benefits I mean... when I work during school season, I can do homework on the job. Also, they have a nice TV in the lobby that I can watch when there's nothing else to do (hehe... find myself watching it a lot)...

Too bad they only have basic cable No "extra" channels

Right now I'm waiting to hear back from R Sabee Corp... I'll be making 11.25 an hour manufacturing hospital supplies

It's a summer job only so I'll have a job for the next 4 years when I come back from college for summer break.
