The FIRST ABC for Rookie Teams

Being a fresh Alumni of Team #2230 Zecharia's Angels from Israel, just before joining the army I decided to make a set of video tutorials covering simple FRC subjects and concepts. Basically, I was looking back at my team's rookie year of 2007 and I realised that even though there is so much written material over the net, us 16-17 year olds always prefered videos and pictures Especially here in Israel where some of the team members had issues with large articles written in English.

So for starters I wanted to make a set of videos of important subjects in Hebrew for all the new Israeli FRC teams. And I have a few questions for the rest of you:
a. General thoughts and ideas about the idea.
b. I'm pretty sure something similar to this has been done before (probably). If anyone can link me so I can check how they did it, I'd be very grateful.
c. Most importantly, I'd love to hear you guys (especially rookies and 2nd season-ers) recall which subjects were problematic or could have been explained a little better. I know it took me a while to understand the concept of torque without the basis in Physics for instance.

Good luck in pre-season learning,

Barak.

PS: If you are an experienced FRC Alumni looking to collaborate with me on this, I'd love to hear from you. Mail me @ barak.shelef@gmail.com

Re: The FIRST ABC for Rookie Teams

Check the "useful links" section on the Portal. You want the one that says "Team in a Box"--that's a DVD produced by team 341. Yeah, it's in English, but it's a start... And, if I recall correctly, it's free.

The "MOEmentum:FYI" (maintained by team 365) link in the same area may also have video.

Re: The FIRST ABC for Rookie Teams

If you go to www.team341.com , there is a link for ordering Team in a Box on the side bar. Order a copy and see what you think. Its Free!

Maybe we can work together on an Israeli version.
Besides the translations, I am sure there are some logistical issues which are specific to Israeli teams that might need to be addressed on the DVD.

You can order the DVD online and PM me if you are interested in a possible collaboration.

Best of luck this season.
