FLL Lessons 101

I am curious if anybody has a great online or email-able lesson plan to show FLL teams... explaining the uses and workings of basic Lego pieces and sensors. Gears, Sensors, Programming (for newbies), and other helpful tips to new Middle School FLL students.

Any feedback and advice is highly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Matthew

Re: FLL Lessons 101

There is a lot of information for teams and coaches already on the FIRST website at this link.

I would recommend checking out the tabs on the side that say "Challenge" and "Team Resources". Within those sections the "programming" and "missions" sections are probably going to be the most useful for what you are looking for.

If there is anything more specific that you are looking for, let me know.
Hope this helped.

Re: FLL Lessons 101

While not exactly a complete lesson plan, my dad and I wrote a fairly in-depth page about problems many FLL teams experience several years back. It focuses less on "what part xyz is used for," and more on problems teams encounter that are not obvious at first, and some basic design concepts. It was written before the NXT, so bits of it no longer apply, but most of the ideas it suggests remain valid. It is unavailable in online format as of now, but if you send me your email, I can send it in word format.

Check out the resources page here: http://www.mdfirst.org/MD/Resources/index.htm

TechBrick Robotics from Maryland has tons of resources to share. See their link from the Maryland FIRST resources page. From TechBrick, there are links to helpful sites such as the NXT Step blog.
