Thought I should share something that happened at work today:
I was boared, because I had to wait for people to check out before I could begin cleaning the rooms. There were a few magazines sitting on the piano, and I thought I would keep myself occupied for awhile. I walked over, and the magazine on top was a TIME magazine from December of 2001. It was opened to a full size picture of Dean on a Segway. One of the guests must have read the article on Dean, I thought that was cool being if you talk to anyone within a 2 hour radius of here, you have a chance of 1 in 5,000 of someone knowing who Dean is. Sorry for my ranting I am boared! |

Bad night at work!!
Well i had the worste night at work the other night. I get to work at 3...and find out our dish machine broke. So we have dished piled up in our dish room from 3 meals. It is a disaster...at least 4 hours worth of dishes. Well the guy who always fixes our dish machine could not fix it, so we had to call an electrician. So the electrician comes and fixes the stupid thing in like 5 minutes. It was so depressing. So there were like 5 of us in there trying to whip these dishes through. Then we had to serve dinner. Then after dinner we had 3 people in ther me included. Well our floors in the kitchen have been so slippery these days because it has been so hot, and the dish room floor is always slippery because it gets wet from the dishes. So...I am in there trying to hurry up, and get some of these dishes done...well i try and step over something, and the next thing i know, my butt slams on the floor. I slipped. It hurt so bad...oh and not to mention i smashed my had on this spikey thing that we put our dishes in to go through our dish machine. So now today my hand is nice and bruised, and that night...no we did not get all the dishes done. Oh well...LOL...What a night...

I work as a lifeguard for a pool in Torrance (Los Angeles) I get paid $8.00 an hour to sit around and do pretty much nothing, although b/c i am an EMT if something bad does happen, i have to be the person to usually handle it. But its good work and i enjoy it. Hopefully though i will get a job as an EMT on an "AMR" ambulance in the inner city soon.

I get to celebrate the end of my six-week lack of internet access with...this post. Wow, isn't that anticlimatic? Oh well...
I'm sort of a supervisor at Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins. I make about $7.25 an hour plus tips. The tips almost make the male cow dung I have to put up with worthwhile. They add up to about $50-60 a week that the IRS never finds out about. Ahh, well, working any time after 3 is a breeze, and the people on my side of the counter aren't bad. ...now if there were only a way to get rid of the customers.... ![]() |

Try explaining to a person that they are not getting a satellite picture on their television because there is a hurricane outside... better yet when there was a tornado the day before and they get mad because their dish moved in the high winds so there is no signal for them to see. The best one is when they say they can't see a pic ture and you tell them to walk up to the tv and press the power button and magically a picture appears. My favorite is the people who haven't paid their bill in months and complain that they arent getting any picture. Heh guess what I do. "Thank you for calling Dish Network how may I help you?" It's not so bad, at least we get to play soccer while we are on the phones. I mean tat we pay close attention to our customers and never derrive from their call so as to best help our customers and solve their problems as quickly as possible. I applied for a promotion and I'm hoping that I can hit up the company for sponsorship this year...

We've got a pretty kickin network up there (One of our consultant's commented that we have they kind of network to support 10,000 users, we support 400, heh). Win 2k/Novell/Linux...
If this sounds cool to ya, go to ur local place and volunteer for somin like spring or winter break, if they like you, they might hire you...thats wut i did! (This is now my second summer working here, hehe) Good luck to yall, c'ya lata BTW, ANIMATION TEAM RULES!!!!! ![]() |

I have been interning at a civil engineering firm since last summer. It is a really good job. Right now I am finalizing some plans on a sewage pump station that is going to be built in goochland county, here in virginia. It is kinda cool to be 18 and allready have 2 years of CAD experience under my belt. And it is fun to work with architechs, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers. And when i say work with, I mean I am actually doing work. I had to design some HVAC systems and lots and lots of revisions on the 56 sheets in this project. I also do 3d animation for them when the CAD work is light. The pay is awesome too. Right now i make 10/hr and get a 401(k). They allready asked me to come back next summer after my freshmen year in college.
Also, I do a lot of volunteering for FIRST. I go with the regional coordinator to talk to people who are interested in FIRST. Gabe G. Former Student on team 384 Current Mentor on team 384 |

I'm working a mill job for the summer. $9.25/hour plus time and a half for anything over 40 hours. Working a 12 hours swing shift kind of bites the big one though. Just under a month to go, than college. Gotta keep telling myself that one.

I work at Target, worked 10 hours in today in fact, and had quite the worst day of my life there today. One of my many managers hates me for no reason, and I think she's going to try to get me fired. Ugh, don't you ever have one of those times where you'd like to gouge someone's eyes out?
