I think the "Sustaining Team" grants from NASA are a great action and show of support. These grants are specifically for teams who have lost major corporate funding for 2010 an dmay not survive.
I especially like that these at risk teams must identify what they are doing to recover in the future, but NASA recognizes that they may not be able to sustain themselves in 2010 without some assistance. Good Luck to everyone who applies!
