we tried that. By older radios i mean the older models. They are smaller and skinnier and when we connect them, nothing happens and it says like no radio. Is there anything we need to change in the code? Those old ones were before my time so I have not used them ever

I'll second Mark on this one. They do work, we broke the 08 ones in some random accident. You just have to make sure that one says "Robot" and one says "Opperator".
