Re: Top Robots of 2009

I'll argue this for years if I have to, but if I had to pick a single best robot of 2009 at the scoring of moon rocks, it would be 1625 without a doubt. It's really hard to debate the top robots without saying bad things about otherwise great robots, so I won't say why I'd pick Team 1625 over specific teams, but in general. 1625 had the fastest loading this year in my opinion, and since a ton of teams can dump balls quickly this is what sets teams apart. They load reliably in autonomus from event 1, they have in my mind the best intake this year (never jams, as wide as possible, instantly snags balls, and always seems to reload), and they consistently scored at least 40 points a match with heavy defense. Their output was fast and extremely accurate, designed to score perfectly when around a goal. The robot / drivers also were nearly immune to defense, never failing to get a dump ever ever ever.

I'll be back to mention more robots, but I want to emphasize 1625.
