[OCCRA]: Linking Vex Transmitter and Microcontroller

We are having trouble pairing our transmitter and microcontroller. We have followed the instructions in the vex inventors manual. The transmitter finds a connection for a moment and then disconnects. We are able to see a green light on the transmitter but not on the microcontroller.

Re: [OCCRA]: Linking Vex Transmitter and Microcontroller

Bernie,
I wish I could be more of assistance, but I have only one data point. I tried it at home and it worked for me. I was able to update all 3, VEX microcontrollers with new mastercode and on-line program to verify operation.

Grasping for straws, I would recommend that you make sure your batteries are fully charged for both units (Transmitter and VEX microcontroller) and retry.

Your student did upgrade to the latest version of EasyC, V2.9.3.0, and download the new mastercode (V8), right?

Otherwise, please bring your hardware to Saturday's Walled Lake competition and I may be able to find time while running the event to look at your hardware configuration.

Ok, I found a bad EDR receiver after performing A/B swapping at home.
I called VEX and they gave me a RMA number to returning the suspect bad hardware.

Re: [OCCRA]: Linking Vex Transmitter and Microcontroller

If we have bad components, such as the VEXnet Rx Upgrade Model, what do we have to do to get the replacement? You told me at the competition that we have to contact Innovation First, but where specifically do we have to go?

Thanks, again for your help at the competition yesterday.

Re: [OCCRA]: Linking Vex Transmitter and Microcontroller

Bernie,
I sent in your VEXnet hardware via an Intelitek RMA on Tuesday, November 4th. I sent in three systems and one programming cable in total.

Smile Re: VEXnet firmware upgrade hardware operational

Bernie,
Great news. The VEXnet hardware we received back from Intelitek with the firmware upgrade did the trick. Your team is up and operating again. We ran with VEXnet in match #18 at Waterford Kettering HS, Michigan on November 12, 2009. Notre Dame Prep, Team 33, has another set of hardware and they were up and going and Rochester Adams, Team 245, was also operating again with VEXnet.
