I agree, Keep submitting. Once you lose momentum its very hard to gain it back. Maybe submit at another regional?

don't stop
there are plenty of things to submit, just find and explore
there are plenty of people who are happy to have us
good things to use in the Chairman's essay, its the most prestigious award remember?
