PS. Sorry to hear programming's not for you. I just hope the ap system wasn't the factor, cause in my view ap computer science is a bunch of bs. I'll try to keep this short, but basically ap dumbs things down, doesn't teach advanced features or idioms, and doesn't do a good job explaining why you do things. Of course, if you have a really good teacher I suppose he could salvage the class, but that's a rarety in a public school system.

PPS. Hope I don't sound too cynical, I just have some opinions against ap comp. sci Oh, and I believe there's a teacher around here that teaches it. No offense to you, I just don't like the ap treatment for computer science.

PPPS. My sytem of 'PS'es is entirely too long ... sorry 'bout that

as always, just my 2 cents
yes, your ps system is way too long.

im actually going to take ap C++ this year at my school and we have a teacher that actually knows what he is doing. he has written some books on programming and math and goes around to conferences and speaks. I had him last year for the TrueBASIC programming class (a waste of time ) but he really is a good teacher. The system isn't completely lost, its just blind!

mmmmmm... declaring variables *drool*

what's wrong with getting all 5's? i think anyone who does that is amazing. i also think they should die so i have a better chance at getting into a good college, but oh well .

anyways, for all the people that do get all 5's, great for you.

to twistedboi03:
APs are not that hard. if you study and really try, a 5 is very reachable. if you go to florida and party, well, let's say i settle for a 4 .

i think that a 5 wouldn't be too hard if you try. I got a 3 in Calc AB but the class ended in well before the test. I wish they offered AP physics at my school

I wish I never took them...

I live in a town where they find it a tradition to have the seniors graduate in the last week of June. So, when we take the AP exams in may, we have yet to have a whole month of instruction and we miss out on a few things that they put on those exams. Also, no teachers of mine really prepared us for the test, they just said 'take it if you want to.' So, I got my scores back the other day, and I'd say that all my AP course teachers would be disappointed if most of them didn't retire after last year. I got a 1 in Calculas, which I expected because I slept and doodled during the exam; and a 2 in English, which was disappointing because I worked hard and thought I had a 3. That's why I hate how written exams are graded, they are graded subjectively by people who sit in a room all day and read teenager's horrible handwriting. It is something special if you can get a 5 on an exam, even a 4, so feel good about yourself. Also, my AP exams were pointless, AP Calc and AP Phys I wanted to repeat in college, AP English I may still get out of because I recieved college credit at UCONN already and I can just transfer the credit to my new school. So that's my spoof on AP exams... only take them if you need to.

That class was the devil. Our teacher talked in a monotone and put everyone to sleep. The most exciting thing that happened was when we drew on all the kids that were really passed out and left them in the room after the bell rang. But, it did give me a chance to take mid afternoon naps! oh yeah. i did get a 3 on the thing, god knows how...i guessed on basically every answer

the problem wasn't our teacher because he wasn't a bad teacher. he was actually too good. my whole class wrote about 3 or 4 pages on the dbq and ran short on time as we replied to the religion question (2 pages and we still didn't make out point) at that point we rushed to answer the 2nd thematic question and only squeezed a page or 2 from that. so don't put all of the blame on the teachers.

Our teacher for AP US History was okay, but she was so into minutia that I wasn't prepared for the actual test, because her tests were much harder and asked a lot more in-depth questions, and we only got up to World War II....it was so bad. I have to re-take US History this year......grrrr....
